Hone

Honing the Idea

Hone is an educational app that facilitates the learning and sharing of new skills. Users share their knowledge and skills to allow others to learn from it. Additionally, users can share projects, provide updates, and interact with one another, all within the Hone app.

After conducting research, I identified a gap in the creative industry for a platform which allows professionals to showcase their portfolio and gain recognition from potential employers. From this, I conceptualised an app which combines elements of LinkedIn and Dribbble, while also providing a platform to share and learn industry-specific skills.

Refining the Prototype

The Hone app has been designed and prototyped in Adobe XD, with clear page navigation and animations. Its user-friendly flow was thoughtfully planned so that users can naturally navigate through the app without having to second guess an action.

Creating a User-Friendly App Layout

Hone's four tab layout is intuitive and will be familiar to many users. The Home Feed, Discover tab, and Profile Section provide an all-in-one platform for users to share and learn new skills. Users can follow other users as well as larger corporations. Content is user flexible and can be in the format of their choice, including videos, photos, and full articles.

The Profile Section not only displays posts, but also allows users to showcase their past projects, creating a virtual portfolio for potential clients and employers to view.
